Hi! My name is Melissa Shaw.
Welcome to our third grade classroom website. It is
my hope that this website will improve communication between
home and school as well as serve as a resource for other
educators. Classroom pictures and projects have been
added to the Now Showing section.

find teacher created resources for each weekly story in the
MacMillan McGraw Hill Florida Treasures Reading series.

My name is Melissa Shaw and I am currently a third grade
teacher at Ortona Elementary School. I am fortunate
to call Ortona my home for the past eleven years.
In my twelve years in teaching, my experience has ranged
from kindergarten through third grade. I hold a Bachelor's
and Master's Degree in Elementary Education which I received
from the University of Florida. Go Gators!
I am married to a wonderful man and have three beautiful
children that keep me on my toes. My husband works
as the Director of Group Sales at Daytona
Lagoon and you will often see the kids and I playing
there while he is working. I am part of a close knit
family and enjoy spending time with my parents and sister.
I am a Grey's Anatomy fan and a dedicated educator.
