Front Pocket of Binder:
Weekly Newsletter |
In the front pocket of the binder you will find
a copy of our weekly newsletter. This newsletter will include
our weekly words and skills to be taught, as well as other
important classroom information. The newsletter will be
printed the first few weeks of school; however, to reduce
costs will be emailed to those families with email. The
printed addition will be provided to families without access
to email.

Zippered Pocket Pouch:
Money and Excuses
|
This is where you should put all money to be
brought to school (field trips, lunch, book orders) so it
doesn't get "lost" in the bottom of the backpack.
This is also a good place to put doctor's notes for excused
absences.

Student Handbook & Agenda
|
Students will record weekly spelling words and
skills for the week on Mondays. The planner will also be
utilized for family/teacher communication. Please jot me
a note if you have any questions or concerns and I will
respond immediately. If your child does not understand the
homework, please indicate that on that day's page in the
agenda. I ask that you check this section daily and I will
do the same.

Clear Sleeve:
OSCARS Club
|
In the clear sleeve you will find a list of
OSCARS Club activities. The OSCARS Club is completely optional.
It is a club for students who love learning and are motivated
to take the initiative to challenge themselves!
|
Pocket Folder:
Daily Work Folder
|
In the LEFT pocket you will find class
work that your child has completed and is ready to be
“left” at home. This pocket should be cleaned
out each evening. After you have "oooed
and aahhed" over your child's work, I'm sure you
will want to hang it on the refrigerator to ENJOY! In
addition to completed classwork, you will also find important
papers from the school and/or PTA. Please remove and read
all of these papers promptly;as they will keep you posted
with important news and events that are happening at Ortona
Elementary School.
In the RIGHT pocket you will find homework
papers. These papers need to be completed each night and
returned “right” back to school.
